The Topsfield Town Library is proud to announce changes in the library! We are thrilled to debut significant enhancements to our digital collection, sponsored by a generous gift from EBSCO Information Services. Our new five-year partnership with EBSCO Information Services will provide Topsfield Town Library cardholders with EBSCO Discovery Services software, MasterFILE Premier, Business Source Premier, and the eBook Public Library Collection which features over 31,000 eBook titles. These new additions to our digital collection will be available to all Topsfield residents. Furthermore, the library is excited to become one of the first public libraries in the area to use EBSCO Discovery Services software (EDS). EDS will provide patrons with fast, simple access to all of the library’s full-text content (electronic and print) through a single search box accessed through the library’s website.
We have also undertaken changes to the book collection and physical space in the library. EBSCO Information Systems donated non fiction books valued at $2,500. These titles will enrich our collection in the applied sciences and critical insights.
With EBSCO Information Systems’ donation, the library purchased stack displays and a large display rack to provide better and easier access to materials for our patrons. And we are sprucing up the interior with new paint in the Children’s Room, Teen Room, and other locations.
The entire library staff encourages patrons to enjoy the library’s digital offerings from home, or better yet, come down and visit! We look forward to seeing you in the Library.
The theme for today's session of storytime will be St. Patrick's Day! Join us as we read a few picture books and make a fun craft to take home. Please sign-up for storytime in the Children's Room, by calling us at 978-887-1528, or by e-mailing the Children's Librarian, Jane Johnson. Learn more about storytime on our storytime page.
Looking for something to do after school on this early release day? We'll set out some craft supplies for you to create whatever you want! No sign-up is required.
Betsy Williams teaches, lectures and writes about living with herbs and flowers. Ms. Williams brings her "Mrs. Thrift Cooks Up a Storm!" program back to the Topsfield Library by popular demand! When Mrs. Thrift cooks, basic home cooking becomes a palate-awakening experience. Mrs. Thrift shows you how to make her favorite condiments: herb vinegars, herb mustards, herbal butters, and herbed nuts. Then she teaches you how to use them to lift everyday cooking to a new level of taste. Tastings of herb butter, vinegar, mustard, nuts, and one of Mrs.T's favorite soups are included.
Grab some lunch after school, then join us for a variety of board games! No sign-up is required.
The book we will be discussing at tonight's meeting of the TTL Book Club is On the Noodle Road: From Beijing to Rome with Love and Pasta, by Jen Lin-Liu. Copies may be picked up at the circulation desk. All are welcome, and light refreshments will be served.
