have lots of great programs for all ages.
We also have 2 Book Clubs meeting several times over the summer for
Grades 1 - 3 and 4 - 6.

JJ PICTURE BOOKS
A Kitten Tale, by Eric Rohman. This is a tale of four kittens who had
never seen snow. The three kittens discussed snow and decided
they wouldn't like it. The fourth kitten is very anxious for it
to snow. When it finally does snow the fourth kitten is out the
door. Will the other kittens follow him?
On the Farm, by David Elliot. This is the book for children who like
farm animals and large, colorful pictures. each page boldly
depicts an animal and what he likes.
Elephants Never Forget! by Anushka Ravshankar. A little elephant finds himself stranded
after a big storm. He tried to live with the monkeys but that
didn't work. A water buffalo befriends him and he learns their
ways. A herd of elephants appear at the watering hole one
day. They call to the little elephant and he must choose between
the elephants and the buffaloes. Which way does he go?
Mary Had a Little Lamp, by Jack Lechner. This is a spoof on "Mary Had a Little
Lamb". Mary takes her lamp everywhere she goes much to the
puzzlement of her parents, friends and teachers. Mary goes to
camp in the summer and doesn't take the lamp! Check this book out
to find out what appliance has replaced the lamp!
Monkey and Me, by Emily Gravett. A little girl has a monkey that she takes
everywhere. They are playing at imitating different
animals. They become penguins, kangaroos, bats and elephants and
monkeys, of course. all that activity has put them both to sleep.
NOVELS - AGE 8 AND OLDER
Just Grace, by Charise Mericle
Harper. Grace does not live up to her name as she tends to
be the opposite. Grace prides herself on being empathetic, but
when she helps a neighbor, her good intentions backfire. This is
the first book in the series
Shooting the Moon, by Frances O'Roark Dowell. Jamie's brother joins the Army and is sent to Vietnam. The first communication from him is not a letter, but a roll of undeveloped film. She can now see another side oft the war. He becomes a prisoner-of-war. Jamie learns how to develop the photos and displays them. Get the book to find out about her brother.
Savvy, by Ingrid Law. Mibs Beaumont is turning thirteen and her real "savvy" will be revealed. "Savvy" is a magical (power unique to each member of her family). Mibs' World is turned upside down when her father is in an accident. Read about her misadventures as she takes the bus to the hospital.
Airman, by Eoin Colfer. Conor Broekhard has flying in his bones. He spends hours studying the science of flight and exploring the castle with Princess Isabella. Conor stumbles on a conspiracy against the king. He is branded a traitor and thrown in jail. Guess how he makes his escape!
NON-FICTION AGE 8 AND OLDER
A Practical Guide to Monsters, by Nina Hess. This is the complete book for anyone who likes monsters. There is a section on Monster Protection, types of monsters, vierous villains and more. Read this if you are strong!
Soccer: the Ultimate Guide, by Martin Cloake. From Beckham to Hamm, Pete to Ronaldo, this fantastic book hits the back of the net. Loaded with soccer facts and pictures from many countries, this will appeal to soccer players and fans.
